CV Output for LFO

I'd like to make an external LFO pedal like the Side Step that has waveform and rate controls, and a CV output.
Could I build this with an fv1? 😁
Having trouble finding info on this, any resources are appreciated.

This wouldn't be a good job for the FV-1.

You'll need a microcontroller (ATMEL AVR or Arduino would both be good choices) and a digital potentiometer IC.

I conceived of an idea like the Sidestep, but I didn't know enough to make it happen — when the Sidestep was released I snapped one up right away.

Would be a cool PedalPCB build, though... I know where there's one that could be traced. Just sayin'.

Haven't made any progress on building something with a microcontroller but found some really cool modules.

Braindump:
I wish I could put together something like an electric druid VCLFO 10 Chip, 1p8t rotary, and toggle sw (to flip between sets of 8 waveforms (unless theres a 16 position rotary?)) and pipe that to cv out 😁.
In general, IC pinouts are super cool to me, it's like an api you get to interact with.

Lotta learnin to do before I get to messing with these chips.
