Get Anything Good for the Holidays? Show off your haul!!!!

Time to break out all my albums from the late 80s and 90s again. Haven’t had a turntable for about 20years, and we decided to get this as a family gift to each other. Our daughter got the other 99% of the presents :) It’s not a super nice one, but it’s better than anything I’ve had in a loooong time.

Got my ultrawide curved monitor. The final piece of my studio. Less building more recording.

And I just picked this up online. I have a dewalt chainsaw, but after you get the big branches down you still need to cut those smaller ones into trashcan sized pieces (they don't take bundled branches anymore :cautious: ) . I have arthritis in my fingers and a LOT of branches to dispose of. I'd rather save my fingers for guitar, loopers really screw my fingers up for days....

It's either this or pay someone $1000+...

And a warning, there's a website called dewalttools that I almost took the bait on, but noticed EVERYTHING was 94 dollars. Even $500 SDS PLUS rotary hammer. Looked it up, they're scooping products from other sites and putting random prices on them. **Warning Will Robinson** if it sounds too good to be true, it IS too good to be true, lol....

I got some tasty goodies this year. A silicone soldering mat, solder sucker, and a Weller WE 1010 soldering station! The break this week from work will be pretty sweet…
That solder sucker will change your life!

I still don't know what theat is for. I had one for a couple of days. It just got covered in bits of solder and it was another thing to clean and out away.

I got a pair of socks, a belt that's too long and will have to be returned and a pack of strings that haven't arrived yet and will get here after I'm back in Poland :)

Not that I could ask my parents to buy me any tools that would get impounded at the airport.

I did get money and it'll allow me to buy parts.
Or rent. Haven't decided yet what's more important.

The kids went in together and bought me a Big Horn Chef's knife from Montana Knife Co, it came with a nice blade guard, stickers and some seasoning (it is crazy sharp) My sisters gave me some Jams, preserves and seasonings, seems my family is more interested in my culinary pursuits!

I got way more than I deserved and have been sharing most of the stuff I got for myself in my NxD posts here.

Kids got me some exotic tea's and an infuser because I've recently had to give up coffee.....(I have Barrett's Syndrome....amongst a bunch of other maladies) . They also got me some guitar polish (MusicNomad) and a "StringStrecha" (thanks for the tip @szukalski !). Planning on trying that out today when I string up my final yet to be posted NGD Black Friday Haul post!

My wife got me this cool heated puffy vest that has a battery pack. My office is the coldest room in the house in the winter and the warmest in the summer. One of said maladies (I'm a dual cancer survivor) is that I have a hard time regulating my body temp. And when I get cold, I get bone chilling kinda cold.

I made traditional turkey dinner for just the four of us. (5 counting Bonnie the dog) We're having a larger extended family "Christmas" gathering in Jan due to everyone's schedules. But I always spatchcock my birds, made a holiday Turkey rub from fresh spices from our garden, Made my "Stuffing Muffin" recipe, whipped potatoes, giblet gravy. Even Bonnie the Westie got a little plate of Christmas turkey (much to my wife's chagrin). Bonnie was pretty funny, she managed to eat the turkey, stuffing and lick the gravy clean out of her bowl and somehow not touch the little dollop of cranberry sauce I put in there. I guess she doesn't like cranberry sauce with her turkey.

But the best part of the day was just having everyone together, my two kids still at home and FaceTiming in my eldest who lives in Cincinnati.
We traded food pics.......that's our love language...heh.

$200 and tickets to Bonamassa in March. I suppose my wife is expecting me to take her since she took me to see Slash last March.
Saw him a few years ago and Anton Fig was drumming for him. Not sure if he still does or not, but it was a fantastic show. The old guy next to me said I ruined the show for him because I actually cheered a few times instead of just sitting there quietly. Lol. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
