Lowballer Twin distortion setting

When I toggle on the distortion it sounds great but it's much louder that the regular setting.
What would be the best way to attenuate only the distortion setting?

Quite some time ago I breadboarded the Lowballer and was experiencing this as well, so I included a volume pot just for the distortion side, which worked very well. I ended up with a more modified version (which someday I intend to share, lol) but perhaps try that and see?

Another, less intrusive mod would be using diodes with a lower forward voltage. Bat46 or 1N5817s could work for your needs

Definitely true - I liked SFD106 germaniums in mine, but there is still a massive boost in level.

I used 5817s in my last Low Baller, and the volume was tamed substantially, but the frequency spikes from the filter could definitely make it seem like there was a boost going on.
