New delays toys

It was a delay joke...

And mine was a car joke…it’s a regular Friar’s Club around…

To stay on topic (a first for me), I very much like the Space Echo concept in general. I’m considering picking up the new mini version. Out of all the OG tape echos the Space Echo really stands out. I like that Boss is essentially acknowledging that they have a classic on their hands, and decided to modernize it slightly…

One of the features I really like about the Strymon El-Cap (“Wait, Big Monk likes the El-Cap? 😂) is the Spring Reverb feature and the Multi-Head modes.
That tears it! I'm getting one of these El-Cap things....now where do I find one...... [looks left, then right....wanders away aimlessly]

I’m not a fan of Strymon. Perhaps it’s my natural inclination to run counter-current, but nothing I’ve ever seen from that company has interested me. There is something incredibly boring and sterile about their whole vibe…and I’m not even talking about the tone of their pedals. The vibe I get is a little too…pre-fab houses, chain restaurants, climate-control…maybe a bit too artificial.

Keep in mind that is nothing against the players who use their stuff. I encourage everyone to use what they want to do what they want…

If you can find a V2 with the soft switching, that’s the one. It’s not a deal breaker but it makes accessing and changing secondary settings easier.

Mine is a V1 and I’m sending mine into Strymon soon for a swap. They charge a flat fee of $75 for switching the circuit out.
Have you done a demo of it?

I'm still rockin' the old DL-4's..
I found this dead on Craigslist and fixed it:

I think with some work, I can fit the PCB into my SCHMORG..
If I can do that.. then I can build a miniature pedal board inside of the original Line6 housing!

That’s insane if you can fit a DL4 into your system!

I've mentioned it before but the El Cap is one pedal which annoys me and I can't quite work out why. Most of my friends have one but I really don't like it and I've tried to! The one Strymon I have kept is the Flint. I'm not using it right now because I have a Source Audio Collider in its place but I am keeping the Flint. I like the Deco but wish the tone controls were more powerful - I can't get rid of enough bass on the drive side. Otherwise it would be the (almost) perfect rockabilly pedal. I've had a Brigadier and been immensely unimpressed and had a Timeline which was perfectly good but uninspiring.

I quite like the Collider. I mainly just use fairly ordinary sounds but love the oil can delay sometimes. Funny thing is that of all the clever delays out there one of the best sounding to me is the TC Flashback. Crazy! But the Collider has delay and reverb in one reasonably small box so it wins.

I have always found the time factor delays perfect for live performances. digital, vintage delay and tape echo are worth the whole pedal
