New JHS Pedal Announcement

I thought y’all were talking about the Aion Demo Tape Fuzz clone (Torus). I built one recently and enjoy it so far.
But I see they actually have a newer board that’s more 424 specific (apparently some young indie rocker has made it trendy). Wonder how different it sounds to the Torus

I’ve got a semi-functional Tascam Porta-02 MkII, that my neighbor gifted me, that I need to try and work on at some point…

No, the Demo Tape (PPCB B-Side, Aion Torus) rules and everyone should build one. I've built three.

It sounds like like a massive, splatty, wall-of-sound Fuzz Face (even though the circuit is nowhere close), whereas the 424 is the fizzy, anemic Great Value cousin. Don't bother, IMO.

Yeah, Mk.Gee is the artist you are referencing. It appears that he carts a 424 around to use as an overdrive. Rhett Shull did a video:

I could see JHS doing a signature pedal for someone like this. But, who knows? Guess we'll see tomorrow.

Man does this resonate with me. The majority of the answers my kid give me to simple questions are cryptic responses

“What would you like to eat for a snack?”

“ Axolotls live in caves…. What dose a totem do?”

When I saw the "Forward or back I am still the same" thing my mind immediately thought 808... I'm no idiot.

... TR-808, because I saw Friday that it was apparently 808 day. "Well JHS wouldn't do a drum machine would they?"

Then I went on (and failed) to think of other pedal names that were palindromes...

Not once did the Tube Screamer cross my mind.

it's a unique kinda fuzz, but still farts like we probably all do after a quesadilla with extra refried beans.

Yeah but I keep having to replace my 424's after a few stomps...

I suspect it'll be closer to $249 in the USA, just judging from this one:

It's also possible that price is just a placeholder, it does seem a bit high for what it is compared to their other offerings.

I don't mind the white washer, but I have to say, I really like the 3 Series (and NOTA*) cosmetics better.
