I got this octaver in a box(finally, damn). So first thing, I'm a bit of an octave nut. Currently on my board I have an ehx hog, a meatbox, and an ocelot which is likely to be replaced by this thing. Occasionally I use a fuzzy fox so having the octarock upper voice on the 2knobjob footswitch kind of eliminates that need too.
I find both the ocelot and octarock to be a little below unity with just the octave down so I added a little jfet booster, a moonn kobold which is their version of Escobedo's duende boost. It was a freebie pcb that I populated ages ago and had been meaning to utilize so that's nice. I think it was the first smd component that I ever soldered to a circuit having only done a few smd adapters at that point. Many victories.
Where I stuffed the boost:
There were failures too. While the circuit worked right away and sounded glorious, all my tinkering repeatedly bit me in the ass. When I finished boxing it up I found that I had confused the octave up and down pots so I 2knobjobbed the oct down.
Tore it apart, fixed it, tested it, reassembled.... oops I put the boost after the 3pdt.

Fucking silence...
You get the picture. I almost threw it in the box of shame but I just had to freshen up the wires to the input jack and now it's a happy little box of brown notes. Sounds awesome, go build one everybody.
