I have just noticed that I did not order a 2.2M resistor for my next project. There is a shop locally that has a 2.21M. Is that close enough? It is for the Aion Lumin which is their version of the BBE Sonic Stomp. The notes says the function is "Input pulldown resistor."

Yep, that's close enough. 1M would be fine as well.

Think about what percentage difference that is, and what percent tolerance resistors are often used in pedals. In this case the percentage difference is very small.

Also, knowing what the purpose of the resistor is in the circuit is very helpful, since in this case as pedalpcb mentioned even as low as 1M wouldn’t really change the sound at all since it’s purpose as a pull down resistor means a range of values would work there.
