What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Wrapped up a GuitarPCB dual tube screaming preamp build. Added the Toto tone boards to swap diodes. D9J, BAT41, 3mm yellow led, and 1n914.

Yes it’s messy.
Sounds good, and glad I was talked into using some tip switched jacks to allow an insertion point between each node.

Tilting is not enough! As inspired by Bob Burt's V cabinets (subtle outwards), and the Beta Lead combo (extreme inwards), I made these angled discs that can be flipped in four directions via the mounting screws. These are angled at approx 7 degrees (I still need to smooth them out via the router... Ugh)

Too bad these Fender mounting screws are just a few mm too short, so I'll either have to get some screw extentions. or sink them a bit into the baffle.

Finally finished this kit up. Lots of mistakes I had to fix on it, but it turned out ok. Only a little weird black paint headstock shrinkage reaction. Maybe the grain filler underneath and not enough coats, or the clear coat shrank it. I've wanted one of these since my twenties. Got a mojo pickup in it from the UK. (Edit: I should note I experimented with milk paint and all nontoxic paints for this.)

Populated a total of 7 boards in preparation for my upcoming enclosure order. I quite like this workflow where I do a bunch of boards at the same time, first resistors for all, then caps, then the rest, and finally for boxing just add pots and wiring (and LEDs/CLR's). Much nicer (for me) than doing everything in one go before boxing.

As far as my bench, it's got stuff, but I haven't had much time. New 9–5 is taking up some motivation juice, but I'm just glad I have one in this market.

Did upgrade my PC's SSD because the VHS digitization… I mean once I edit the family memories down (and save the wicked rad commercials), it'll be less space, but want to make sure I don't miss anything. So even if the SLP tape has 10–20 minutes of family shenanigans and both Splash and Roxanne, I let it all record just in case.

Got a crash course in clonezilla and netbootin, because migration of Linux was out of my wheelhouse. The swap partition was in the way of resizing the primary boot, and gparted broke the swap partition move… anyway it's sorted, but thing is I know just enough to do some serious damage but not enough to fix it without help. Such is the non Windows or macOS life.
