What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Not in the mail but I was hanging with an old friend who has a much deeper understanding of electronics than I. A few weeks ago, he took a few things out of my box of shame after I jokingly suggested he clean up my slop. Back came this now working meatyballs with several jumpered traces. It was one of the oldest failures in there. It excels at certain things like needing less adjustment when switching from up to down sweep when compared to my current favorite madbean junk trunk.

He also 3d printed some of the dual pot covers that @swelchy so generously posted, thanks for that! Then he gave me this OC-2 for no reason. "Can I borrow that to compare to my ocelot?" "Uhhh, you can have that." Screenshot_20231204_191727_Gallery.jpg

New hot air station(with backup soldering iron, will setup for guitar pots most liekly) from 11.11 and a whole bunch of goodies from Chaney/EG. Getting them all labeled and put away now. Have to measure the hfes ...
Got a load of Telefunken BC239Bs(muff), some sweet looking teledyne jfets, and some 2SA683 which are "low frequency amplifiers" PNP 180-230 hfe. Curious how low "low" means.
Also bought one of $5 grab bag deals. Not worth it really, considering the time. 5 transistors, 1 quad op amp, and a bunch of mlccs. There were about 20 red and blue striped diodes that look a lot like D9Es(410-430mV Vf on the TC1)
Or maybe ITT 1N276? Anyone have a guess? IMG_20231204_214317109.jpg

New (to me) Oven Day! Bring forth the SMD.

Thanks @vigilante398.

If it hasn't been done already, open it up and replace the masking tape with kapton tape. See the discoloration from just a couple cycles?

Keep an eye on it, mine absolutely charred a PCB / FV-1 IC for no good reason. Had been running it daily, then out of nowhere it decided to go rogue on me. Thankfully there was only one in the oven and not an entire tray full. :oops:

Fortunately it has already been done, I did some reading before I bought it so I opened it up and changed all the tape before even running it.

HM-2 Cult has their Chainsaw PCBs for US$4, as of this writing. I grabbed a couple for personal use, plus another for the PIF party over at Madbean's forum.

I was just over there recently and weirdly can't get the auto-recall URL to work;
searching for "HM-2 Cult Chainsaw PCBs" got me nothing but links back to this forum.

Searching for the "HM-2 Cult Stockholm" got me there right away. 🤷‍♂️
