What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Slowly but surely starting to receive components for my next amp build… need this one asap to do a proper pcb footprint. (If anyone knows why a side is marked green let me know, I thought inductors had no polarity?

Not my Tayda enclosure order, that's for sure.

This is (at least) the third time the chromium enclosure has been reset. It's not even a complicated or full face print or anything. I assume it's the chromium paint itself? But they did UV print it at least a few times I think, they sent me a pic of what was wrong with it once but I could see no issues in that one.

Oh well, I figured it would take a while anyway 🤷‍♂️ Maybe I'll populate the rest of the boards for the order while I wait.

What in the hell is happening over there? Has anyone checked on him lately?

1981 stuff always seemed to be primarily focused on image, they were the first boutique pedal company I knew of that boasted "colorways" (hell I think they are who introduced me to the word), so this is just baffling. Am I this out of touch with art?

If laziness was a factor you'd think he'd just offer them unfinished.

Gluing hair to the enclosure is a brilliant way to discourage me from tracing it... on the other hand, now I know how to handle pedals that show up covered in pet hair...... seal it with clear coat! :ROFLMAO:

LMS dropped more powder coats this morning for those who wanted one.

We'll be dropping some latex semi-gloss as soon as Lowes opens in the morning.

Every other pitch shifting pedal I own is now officially obsolete. I will be getting rid of my Whammy, Drop, and Nano POG. Tracking on this thing is insanely good. After playing with it for 2 hours I went and ordered the XS1 as well. I don't usually like Boss, but they knocked it out of the park with this one.

I gotta try one of these out.

The way I use my Micro POG is octave-down prominent, and blend in a bit of the octave up. I’m wondering if I wouldn’t miss the octave up if the tracking is faster, or there’s less perceived formant shifting.

Import duty?
I'm not sure who makes the knobs, but the other parts are switchcraft and carling. The knurling on those knobs—and the rest of the machining—can't be cheap to do, either.

Also that post wasn't meant to be some kind of flex, it's just interesting to see what $20 nets vs the order I've got coming from SBP pretty soon.
