Wait, am I just now finding out you can get faceplates made at jlc???

I have some in the trading postEver since @Barry sent me a bag of 390pF silver mica caps, I've been keen on picking up some more. I found a great deal on some silver mica capacitors on eBay last week, so now I have mountains of 53pF, 130pF, and 1100pF caps on my desk. I've got some projects planned this year where the larger footprint, mojo-looking caps will be a great fit. One of the 53pF caps already found their way into my Mechanic build (build report to come).

If you need any more 390's don't buy them, I still have plenty I'm willing to share!Ever since @Barry sent me a bag of 390pF silver mica caps, I've been keen on picking up some more. We need a demo of that bass!Pink baggie day! The only thing worth seeing is that green sparkly block of Swiss cheese over there. I also took delivery on some Labella white gold tapewound strings for the 5'er. They really woke this thing up. View attachment 88450
Love love love Labella tapewounds. Absolutely perfect when you like that flatwound feel but want a brighter tone.I also took delivery on some Labella white gold tapewound strings for the 5'er.
I'm almost 100% labella now. This is my first set of tapewound. I'm pretty in to it so far. I was worried about the tactile experience but it's not overly plastic feeling. It's hard to truly compare with the dead ass 17 year old flats they replaced. It's like a completely different instrument. It snarls n barks a bit louder now and I like it A LOT.Love love love Labella tapewounds. Absolutely perfect when you like that flatwound feel but want a brighter tone.
Sft based? It's looking good!
I haven't used the cobalt flats. I buy bass strings so infrequently that I've not had many chances to try new things in my 3 decades with the instrument.Nothing yet.
Since the strike ended, two costco catalogues, the former house-owner's got a letter, the former owner's tenant got a letter...
Oh, my wife got a gadget that reads/measures Radon — a RADON DETECTOR.
I'm planning on getting some PPCB this weekend, and Moonn should be arriving some time before summer I hope.
Meanwhile...
@Mentaltossflycoon & @vigilante398 — have you guys tried EB Cobalt Flats? I've finally procured some (didn't want to buy online, but no stores carried them 'til now... like half a decade to a decade after they were introduced they're finally in local Brick & Mortar stores? WTF?)
Yah, so diluting this thread: you two have me gassing for LaBella tapewounds...
OH and that fretless, demo, where?
