Your favorite earplugs?

Used to use Etymotics now use Alpine Music Pros. The latter have two filters. I use the strong ones. It sounds like shit on stage and I don't enjoy the music but hearing damage is a nightmare i want to avoid.

Dang, dude. Here's hoping we get some kind of Star Trek treatment in our lifetimes to get hearing problems cured. While I'm at it hair loss too, please.
Thank you sir. Tell your kids they really will go deaf if they don’t turn it down!

With the amount of dogs barking in my local area I think if I went deaf that might actually be a dream.
I use loops, but my ear canals are so small I'm using the kids size adaptors on the quiet ones. They're pretty comfortable actually for sleeping in.
Small ear canals makes most other commercial plugs useless because I can't get them to stay in.

I have the same issue. My wife bought me some fancy earbuds recently with silicone tip inserts. They came with three sizes, but even with the smallest ones I had a hard time getting then in.

I’ve looked up some of the suggestions from this thread, but I’m worried the christmas-tree shaped ones wouldn’t work in my baby ear holes.

My ear canals are also super narrow. I use the Eargasm "Smaller Ears" plugs. The smallest shells fit OK, but it takes some fiddling to keep them from collapsing in my ear canal. I can also use the very smallest tips with the Loops.

For anyone that might be testing their own hearing, keep in mind that most people's ability to perceive pure tones drops off around 15–17kHz. It may be that you can still hear the frequency as part of a more complex sound, even if you can't distinguish a sine wave up there.

Also, I've been very happy with Hearos and Etymotics.

Anyone have experience with something like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006GWRJK?th=1

Very cheap for molded earplugs, I don't know if the quality is bad or not.

I ran into it when a FB acquaintance posted about this https://www.howtogeek.com/57481/how-to-make-custom-silicone-ear-molds-for-your-in-ear-monitors/ using that set and something like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006865691744.html?gatewayAdapt=usa2glo4itemAdapt, basically custom molded in-ear monitors for ~$50. But shittier, of course. However, sort of DIY as well.

Custom molds will likely solve your issues, tiny ear canal people. I know they are expensive but ear protection is priority #1 for a musician. Drummers are a thing that exist and they have no volume knob.

The pinch-n-roll foam plugs fit good and do a good job making it so my ears don’t ring when I get home. They just mess up my sweet sweet toanz.

I do sleep well at night. 😁

Yep, I can't enjoy my tone on stage because of the earplugs. They're supposed to attenuate all frequencies equally but it still sounds like I'm under water.

I already maxed out at 14kHz almost 30 years ago in my early 20s, as a result of attending gigs, notably standing in the first row right in front of Dime's rig at this Pantera concert in '94.

Can't see myself but I'm right there. My ears rang for 3 days.
On top of losing some hearing I almost died at that gig cause the whole venue pressed me up against the metal barrier but then Pantera's bodyguard Big Val saw me and with a single hand pushed me and the entire audience back. Thanks, Val, you saved my ass.
