Let's See Your Amps

I knew someone would have a Ceriatone here. I'm saving up for one right now. They seem like the best bang for the buck on the planet to me. How has your experience with it been?
ceriatone is great i am a registered repairman for ceriatone for the far north coast of australia and i don't get that many calls about issues with them
building a champ kit from them was how i became obsessed with building and repairing amps

Hey thanks, thats good to hear from a registered tech! I was just looking at their list of techs and luckily there is one in the Seattle area which is cool if I ever need it. Definitely not ambitious enough for an amp build myself, quite past my talents at the moment haha but someday I'd like to build a little champ kit. I'm having a hard time not trying to get their AH-50 or the Deluxe even, since it'll be my only amp for a good while, it checks most boxes.

Awesome quality and awesome sound....i wanted a amp that had tube distortion vs clipping diodes. I bought the Hot Mod V2 for a extra gain stage and just bought the Ceriatone Kleinulator for a buffered loop. I was going to put in that zero loss loop in but i would have to drill a extra few holes in the chas....The guy put the PPIMV in one of the speaker jacks see pic below...i may build a high gain Yeti or Chuppa 50W down the road...but we haven't slowed down a bit at work, very lucky...working 7 days a week....very blessed
Hey thanks. Yeah about those loops. Since it'll be my only amp I'm digging their AH-50, deluxe or not. Maybe the king Kong. Checks the boxes. 2 channels, line out, etc. So is their buffered effects loops that you can option for, or in the case of the AH50 it comes with, the same as the zero loss loop thing you mention? Is that pedal better than what they would put in internally? Just curious for options since they seem very open to customization.

build it yourself
nothing is better than playing your own custom built guitar, pedals, leads and amp/cabinet
Maybe a starter amp but I am only on pedal build number three, I don't trust myself wiring a big one like that Friedman head. One day I'll get there though I agree homemade is awesome.

Possibly.

I've done some contract work for both Michael Klein and Ceriatone (in fact I designed the PCB for that one) so I'll have to see what their thoughts are... otherwise it'd be a conflict of interest.

Wow...very cool and i understand...again very cool !

Ya done a nice job on this Mr PedalPCB....works great well...works fantastic. Love the little saying's on the PCB...lol

The Hot Mod V2 make's the Ceriatone 800 breath Fire now...love that extra tube gain stage !

Both are money well spent

A rainy day here.

I refurbished the cab as you can see here

Using a product called Duratex which is basically vinyl you apply with a textured brush to look like tolex. It's used on PA gear and those massive speaker systems for outdoor concerts so I figured it couldn't hurt. Tolex is such an outdated wasteful product I was loathe to go down that route again. Duratex is the future.

Great idea. I use my own design that combines a parallel triode preamp, LTP phase inverter and a 5E3 tweed style 6V6 output stage. I get a great cranked JTM stack tone at neighbor friendly volumes.

Here's my current rig after moving into my condo. To keep it at bedroom volumes but still pack a good dimed 6V6 thump, I've ended up with a whacky but VERY effective solution. Amp speaker out > Suhr IR Reactive Load (line out) > 5 watt SE amp (I also designed) set for a low transparent clean JUST to drive the 2x12 closed back speaker cab. All pedals are before the amp. I'll include a link to an old You Tube demo I posted years ago when I use to frequent amp builder forums.

That’s rad! Building a little 5 watt tube combo is on my to do list for sure. My little Marshall is getting lonely and I love stereo rigs.

I'll play! Here's my spread.. I'm a huge Fender fan, if you couldn't tell.

The Big Guns: BF Bassman (AA165) over an open-backed 1x12 with a Celestion Gold and a BF Bandmaster over a 2x10 with G10 Golds.

Occasionally I swap the Bandy for a Super-Sonic 22 head:

And here are my 3 quarantine tweed builds:
Emmy 'Lux
is a 5F11 Vibrolux head
Little Buddy is a 5E3 Deluxe head
Ellie Anne is a 5F2-a with a 10" speaker
