I do transparent blocks under text in DIYLC, so your graphics program should be able to do it as well.
I think you just need block shape beneath the lettering and you can either blur that layer (thus blurring the BG-detail or make it a transparent white ( or whatever colour makes the print pop). There should be a way to adjust the opacity of the block.
What program are you using to make those?
