Yep, gettin it now!Followed your link. It's the same one I bought. But it's significantly cheaper now! I'd go for it.

Surely no one would do that.I assume no one is actually spending $10 on three little snips from Engineer...
In reading about solder suckers yesterday I certainly saw people doing that with the big blue and yellow one. If it's snug I have to imagine it works, but jeez is that thing huge (and kinda janky). It supposedly has more suction due to its size, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little of that to have something more manageable to work with. Can't wait for my Engineer! Not coming till Jan 3-5...The Engineer SS-2 seems to be in the range of 40€ here, but I wonder if I could just get a piece of the silicon tubing and stick it to the end of my current cheapo basic solder sucker...
Just ordered mine.. was supposed to be here tomorrow/next day but then got an update that it will be next week.. thanks Amazon.Yep, gettin it now!![]()
It was either “pay $24, get it Saturday” or “pay $17, get it next week”. Different vendors, but both “shipped from Amazon”.Just ordered mine.. was supposed to be here tomorrow/next day but then got an update that it will be next week.. thanks Amazon.
Wow you labeled it and stuck it in a bag.Followed your link. It's the same one I bought. But it's significantly cheaper now! I'd go for it.

I just measured the bonus tube. In my mind, it was 6", but when I measured it, it was actually 2".
I had that same issue with my penis once.

We should do a group buy on the 16 foot hose that Barry linked to. We can pass around chunks in the next PIF box.

I myself just threw it in a bin so I can look for it for 45 minutes when I need it, give up and order more.

It has a much stronger spring, I am amazed at how well they work. I picked mine up off of eBay for about $12 two years ago.The Engineer SS-2 seems to be in the range of 40€ here, but I wonder if I could just get a piece of the silicon tubing and stick it to the end of my current cheapo basic solder sucker...
I bought I believe what was a pack of 3 of these. Work great! One for my Bench, one in my rolling tool box and the other as a backup.I got one of those to use when the one I've had for 30 years gives up the ghost. I still have another tip for my current solder sucker. When that's depleted, I'll open up the Vampire Solder Sucker I have in my drawer.

A friend gave me this a long time ago. When it works it cant be beat. When it doesn't it pisses me off. It gets clogged way to easy. But when it works. View attachment 100878

Yup, cotton in a tube. This has a button on the side of the wand that activates the sucker. Is there a cotton filter in that glass tube? That reminds me of the desoldering iron we had at one of my previous jobs... it worked great when it did. It seems like it also had a foot pedal to activate the vacuum pump (and solder paste dispenser, if you used that).
