I got a Danelectro French Toast Octave "Distortion" (Foxx Tone Machine). My wife picked it out because she liked the name and it was within budget. It beats the pants off of the Behringer Super Fuzz I got a few weeks ago. I also got a large (coffee table-style) book on the history of Columbia Records. I remember taking it out of the University library in Grad School. It's got some great pictures...

I got the same inexpensive PCB holder that Bricks ‘n Beatles uses.
My first impulse was to fill it with pennies to help weigh it down, but so far, it's been working fine without any added weight. It's not super rugged, but still a sufficiently good deal for the price.

I’ve seen him 3 times now, it never gets old. Anton was with him every time. I think he does tour with him again. During the pandemic, he was stuck in Australia. That make Karen was a tool.

I got some random stocking stuffers this year and a house renovation which was supposed to be done around Christmas. Thanks to Murphy’s law things got delayed until the end of January, at least, because we had to deal with some termite damage. The cost is also much worse than we expected thanks to inflation, supply chain issues, the war in Ukraine… We picked the worst time for this! The renovation also forced us to move out for a few months which means all our stuff has been packed away, including all my pedal building gear, which took away a source of joy and satisfaction for me. The good news is that the work is proceeding quickly now and the house is starting to look like a house again. Also I am building a music room in the basement which is exciting.

I didn’t even know I wanted a hot air station till I got it… No more using a lighter on heat shrink… and I can’t wait to try it on some SMD stuff.

I'm reading it now.
The worst part is that it makes you want more pedals you didn't know about.
Also: I just realized last night that the Albini-famous Interfax Harmonic Percolator is not the same thing as the Systech Harmonic Energizer. I've been getting those confused for years.

This book has helped me chose many circuits to build. The book does feed the GAS. Maybe, PedalPCB should offer complimentary copies to frequent buyers? It may help drive up sales!
