Lab Rat build!

I’m still super excited about this one. It’s cool to see people getting theirs. Mine still taking a long way tour around Illinois 🙄. I’m not usually a mojo gal, but this one has a metal can LM301 waiting for it. And I plan to do three-way clipping with an on off on.
I'm also not usually one for mojo parts, but my personal Lab Rat has a metal can LM308AH in it :D I was torn between that and the УД1408 my buddy sent me since they both sounded excellent, but looks won out and the metal can went in.

We'll see, you've got me thinking an on-off-on could be dandy too.
I don't think I designed this for on-off-on, but it's certainly doable and certainly a cool sound. So if you try it and it works for like a minute then the signal fades out and disappears, put a 100k resistor between the middle lug of the toggle switch and ground, that will take care of it.

anybody got any other mojo parts going in? this is good stuff
Not mojo exactly, but I’ll be using infrared LEDs for that clipping option. In most circuits that use red LEDs for clipping I prefer IR. They have a slightly lower fv (the lowest of standard LEDs) than red. Squeezes out a bit more distortion at the sacrifice of volume but keeps the LED flavor. Its my favorite Turbo Rat “mod”.

not exactly mojo either but I am going to try and squeeze these silicon tube dampers in there for a little protection. I dropped my Sushi Box Black Eye the other day and when it fell, I clenched so hard I almost turned doo doo into diamonds. The Black Eye was fine tho.
I use silicon damper rings as bumpers on all of my sushi box builds but those are too thick to fit. You need ones about half the diameter to make it. IMG_0418.jpeg

And that is reason #1 I choose to mount the tubes inside the enclosure. I can't promise they'll be fine 100% of the time, but I have never had or heard of anyone having a broken tube from dropping one of my pedals. Silicon rings are never a bad idea and if you can make them fit I wholeheartedly support the idea, but I've never felt like it was essential for the protection of the tube.
