New JHS Pedals DIY Kit – Monday May 5th

You'll have to omit one pole of the 4PDT switch (or use a 4PDT footswitch), it's used to mute the inactive channel but shouldn't be necessary with such a low gain pedal.

The slide switch has to be completely disconnected otherwise the footswitch won't work. I'd be tempted to remove the switch, clip the leads (except for the four corner supports), then reinstall it to fill the hole. Like @ICTRock said, you could tap onto the leads of the switch to use it for another function.

The OD part is an exact copy of Hermida/Lovepedal Zendrive aka Mahayana Drive cirquit.

Have you measured the caps or are you referring to the schematic in the video above?

The schematic in the video is of a Zendrive, not an actual trace of the NOTADUMBLE. Take a look at the clipping arrangement, for example.

The NOTADUMBLE has two MOSFETs and three silicon diodes, no 1N34 to be found.
The output capacitor is significantly larger as well (4.7uF vs 470nF).

The boost is a JFET boost, not a Rangemaster as suggested in the video.

EDIT: The boost is actually closer to this Dumble style JFET boost, one of his other videos.

I'm guilty of just clicking through, not watching the entire thing, so if I misunderstood I apologize. :ROFLMAO:

Explanation for the clean channel not resembling the A Box Later

Honestly I still really dig the clean channel. The drive channel isn’t my thing, but I’m going to keep the clean channel on my board even if I have to make my own pcb for it (gotta get it into a 1590b with top jacks 😏). With the input set low it thins things out in a really nice way if it’s boosting another overdrive circuit or going into an overdriven amp. I can get a little clearer pick attack into my overdrives with it but it still has a lot of volume on tap.

I feel like I just TGP’d that so my apologies lol but I dig it even if it’s the Dumble fumble bastard circuit.

Turns out the NOTADUMBLE isn't actually the exact same circuit as a Dumble unit and some folks are surprised/disappointed/upset.
Rather I think it is a Dumble, but it's NOTTHEDUBMLETHEYSAID, but a different Dumble. So it's not the bigger, more complicated Box It Later, but the smaller BBC-1 pedal.

Edit: A small off hand mention of how the drive side is based on a "90's dirt pedal that did Dumble things".

Edit2: lol the shootout section is just two short strums of both pedals, one with controls around noon and one with output dimed, hardly a "shootout", although I believe they probably sound pretty similar

Even then I thought they didn't really sound the same when he dimed the gain.
