Just rabidly ordered the pastel preamp pcb. But now I'm looking around and don't see where to buy the 2N6429's. Is there an equivalent transistor?

SMD Version is MMBT6429.
Looks like the 2N6428 that PedalPCB sells is lower gain in the datasheet vs the 2N6429. No idea if that matters in this circuit however.

Hey folks. On GroupDIY it's mentioned the BC549C (which I already have a bunch of) works in Neve preamps. Would it work in the Pastel too?

I bought 400 BC550C (I know, you win) and they have between 400 and 500, some have little more but non over 600, maybe I'm in the wrong country and they send the worst for here... Too bad for me. JS I found that some multimeters shows different values of HFE. I did comparision of three...

Doublecheck the pinout as I think they're mirrored (mpsa18/549)

I noticed that mpsa18 didn’t have the unique sound that the pedal should have. So I swapped back to the 2n6428.
