If anyone from the Greater Chicago area is interested, my home is one of the host sites for the Barrington Porchfest this weekend.
This is an event that started last year in Barrington Illinois (home to myself and Gordo, and on the daily commute path of Nathan of SushiBox fame)
There is a really nice set of low traffic, long, treelined streets in this dinky little town and we get bands to play a three hour gig on the front porches of host houses.
It was really small but surprisingly popular last year and I can vouch for the quality of at least a few of the bands.

I've got beer, wine, NA bevs, seating and plenty of shade to share with those "on the list" If you mention pedal building you are definitely on the list.
We had the best band of the bunch last year (Mark Himes and the Rolling Blackouts) and got dibs on them forever.
My wife grew up in this town and has taught grade school here for 25 years so she knows everyone. There was no chance we weren't going to be a host porch. And there are a LOT of people "on the list" so don't be afraid you'd be imposing.
Last year Mark's son (who is a great guitarist hung out for a couple of hours and played pedals and I'm anticipating the same this year. So come and check out any of my pedals I've got plenty.
Gordo is definitely coming (he lives about two blocks away) and pretty sure Nathan will be here as well.
BONUS>>>> Meet Sam the Pedal Dog... (just don't try to pet him until you're given permission... he has trust issues...)
