The Fart Pedal

I keep musing the possibilities beyond sampling bodily functions. Hear me out... a miku stomp only it's like... Sam Kinison or Gilbert Gottfried screaming. A more obvious move would be sampling some adult films so you can do covers of Sublime covering Toots Hibbert.

or bloodhound gang's chasey lain with sound clips of the lady in question... I did comment some of these guys WOULD recreate a home version of Rocket Queen...

Ehh nevermind, I'll just work on the Shart Pedal instead. It's similar to the Fart Pedal but with a bit more substance.
I am interested in the audio generator for testing, but maybe as a part of the bigger whole (as opposed to the fart pedal being a fart of the hole).
In this, I mean we need a bad mama-jamma test rig, that probes the audio path, sends out to headphones, amp, or speakers, offers multiple voltage on tap with lots of yummy current, that gives instant voltage/current readings when probe is in DMM mode, that has optional board connectors including pogo pin, etcetera etcetera. Yes?

So we also get a built-in function ginny as well? That’s fabulous!

Edit: maybe I should go to the wishlist?

I plan to work on each part separately as smaller standalone tools until the design is finalized for each one, then put it all together into one integrated test box.

The standalone tools might be more appealing to some anyway... Sometimes I just need a tone generator, and I'd rarely choose an audio probe over my scope, so dragging out a big box to clutter my bench wouldn't make sense.

It all depends on the person and task.

I have a little basic audio tone generator that I use for troubleshooting... It's a 1590B with two knobs (Amplitude / Frequency), a power switch, and a single top mounted 1/4" jack.

It's simple, has no extra functionality, and only outputs a nasty square wave, but it's never let me down when I just needed a simple test tone.

I'd love to have a switch for sine/square/triangle but I haven't found a simple circuit that generates all three waveforms cleanly at a wide range of audio frequencies. (Okay I haven't really looked yet, because so far the square wave has been adequate)

I have a bench full of test equipment, but not everyone does so something modular like you are working on would be really helpful to a lot of builders.
