At the risk of embarrassing him, I feel like I should share this. The eminently likable
@vigilante398 had some leftover transistors from a truly badass project (his
Tarantula fuzz, wowee..) and kindly set them aside for me (we're both in the Chicagoland area so it was only a matter of time till we saw each other again).
Well, he
also decided to whip up a board for me based on a certain 5-knob "Warehouse Of Fuzz" whose pinout matched the transistors. I don't know what's in the water around here, but I'm just astounded at the communal nature of this forum. He asked me what I'd like to call it, and I finally landed on the silly (but apt!) title you'll see on the awesomely Grimace-colored board below. I joked that we should include a certain goofy fedora (uh.. no reason), and I'll be a son of a gun...
More importantly, he's a cool dude and I'm very glad to have met him. The same goes for MANY people here, and it's just
extra nice when people can actually meet in the real world. Things are pretty rough all over right now, and this kinda thing is maybe more important than ever. I've learned a LOT here, and try to give back via label stickers, screen printed shirts, or passing along bits of info to people even newer than myself when I can. Thank you all for your patience and generosity, truly.
