What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

I had an order with 2 enclosures drilling and painting and it was getting to 3 weeks. I emailed them and it shipped immediately, probably a coincidence but yeah they seem backed up. Patience is hard

At the risk of embarrassing him, I feel like I should share this. The eminently likable @vigilante398 had some leftover transistors from a truly badass project (his Tarantula fuzz, wowee..) and kindly set them aside for me (we're both in the Chicagoland area so it was only a matter of time till we saw each other again).

Well, he also decided to whip up a board for me based on a certain 5-knob "Warehouse Of Fuzz" whose pinout matched the transistors. I don't know what's in the water around here, but I'm just astounded at the communal nature of this forum. He asked me what I'd like to call it, and I finally landed on the silly (but apt!) title you'll see on the awesomely Grimace-colored board below. I joked that we should include a certain goofy fedora (uh.. no reason), and I'll be a son of a gun...

More importantly, he's a cool dude and I'm very glad to have met him. The same goes for MANY people here, and it's just extra nice when people can actually meet in the real world. Things are pretty rough all over right now, and this kinda thing is maybe more important than ever. I've learned a LOT here, and try to give back via label stickers, screen printed shirts, or passing along bits of info to people even newer than myself when I can. Thank you all for your patience and generosity, truly.

Oh hey, that's me 😁

I’ll be looking for updates! I think I’m going to be joining you soon on that path.

I'd been looking for an 8 track but prices are getting crazy. This needs a little maintenance but I got it got for a good price and it's in excellent condition. I haven't been able to open it up yet but it's super clean on the outside and the heads are in great shape. I don't think it'll take much. I like that it's 1/4", too, for tape cost.

I have been GASing hard for a SUSTAINIAC type system but they cost too much. I would build the scientific guitarist FRMT project but I don’t want to source all the parts for driver and he doesn’t sell kits anymore. So rather than do all that, I just bought this cello bow. It’s not the same I know but it will scratch my sustaining itch for now. I also got these Arduino nano things to program some MCUs for scientific guitarist projects. 3m dual lock to do my brothers poopy pedalboard. See post #7,186 in “YOUR” workbench thread.

Just from a visual standpoint, seeing someone drag a bow across their guitar is a thousand times cooler than a little electronic device whether it's internal or external.

I checked, and it won't fit in my 1550G, it's easily twice that size !

Need a bigger enclosure.jpeg

Here's a couple clues 😜...
