What's in the mailbox? šŸ“¬ šŸ“¦

Just received my new (corrected) PCBs for my upcoming amp build. Happy to say they are 99.9% perfect. Everything fits etc, the pads should make for easy soldering but the silkscreen is slightly hidden by a pad on a few pins of the power tubes on one side. I will survive :p

And look ma' the sockets fit!

Also got 2 more 12ax7 to try out in my amps. Someone was giving them away so I jumped on it. A "Egnater" Ruby and a TAD 7025.

Supposed to arrive in the next day or so.

Moving from studio monitors to a surround THX soundbar.

This deal courtesy of Best Buy's eBay liquidation account. JBL's usually go on sale just before a new version comes out. If you look at the price on Sweetwater it's $599. But I got it for $259.99, free shipping!!!!

Peak power 550w. Schwing!

I'm setting up a studio in the front of the house so the LSR308 studio monitors currently hooked to the entertainment system will go up there, and this will be the system for the back room where me and my gal hang.

17 enclosures from Tayda arrived today. Going to be a long weekend of drilling them all!

If you don’t mind me asking, how long ago did you order them? I placed an order with Tayda over a week ago - almost all just components that would normally ship immediately – but with a couple of white enclosures (no drill work, no UV printing). Because they seem to run the powder coating in batches on an ā€œas neededā€ basis rather than keeping them in inventory, I knew from past experience that this would delay my shipment for two or three days – but, like I said, my order has just been sitting there in ā€œpackingā€ status for over a week now.

My order last month with some enclosures took 17 days to get to the east coast. Never got a shipping notification, just showed up. I think there was a banner message on the enclosures page about extended lead times so I was expecting it to take a while.

Wow, thanks. I guess I’ll just keep waiting. I will admit that I didn’t put much credence in that ā€œextended lead timesā€œ notice since it’s been up on their website since I first started buying parts from them in 2022 (I figured they either just forgot to take it down or left it up to give themselves some cushion). Thanks again.

FWIW, I put in an order on the 26th (full shebang), Metallic Candy Purple is already fully UV printed and the Metallic Candy Red and Cream just started the painting phase, Metallic Candy Green and Matte Black still pending. No white ones so not directly helpful to you I'm afraid.

I think the notice is always there, but the length does vary. Basically it's a popular service and it will take time to get your enclosures no matter what, the drilling doesn't take too long IME, I think the painting is the biggest hold, and the UV printing too, I guess, especially if they have to re-do them (I put in mine with mostly full face gloss varnish layers before I read they're going to disallow that in the future because it's so tricky).

I ordered February 16th got them March 6th but shipping took a couple extra days.

I’m newer, when I started in September of last year, it was 3 days for standard colors no print no drilling.

Enclosure production time is one of the reasons I order components from Mouser now and have 5-6 spare enclosures this order.
