GE diodes have their place. They basically have a lower forward voltage that, say, the "standard" 1n4148 plus a small amount of leakage. If you ever need help on the breadboard feel free to DM me. There's TONS of stuff you can do. It also helps if you've got a lot of spare parts lying around, but they will build up in time.
