What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Apparently, @Diynot must live 1 days closer to EffectsLayouts HQ, because my order didn't show until today. My Bassifrass didn't make the cut due to an inventory glitch, but 7 new PCBs ain't too shabby. Break Action, Hoard Howler, Grumble Skuzz, Spotted Dick, Schematic Fuzz, Great Vengeance, and Sonorus.

I've got an old LP Standard I call "Anvil". It came with a detachable head, of all things...imagine my surprise  Anyhow, I'm good at gluing things so I fixed it right up...and it stays tuned better than any other guitar I own.

You're wondering how this fits into the mailbox genre...well..
Currently, I have a set of James Hetfield bucs that are fine-sounding pups but variety is also cool, so I pickuped <----eh? ...some pickups.

These are Rev. Willie BFG WhiskerBuckers, which allegedly duplicate the sound of his '59 Pearly Gates. meh, we shall see. In any case, the Rev can rest easy over me stealin' his sound...he does it good.

Wait what??? I hear they actually sound better and have a stronger neck when that happens.

It's true. It's darned near perfect intonation (as perfect is a pitch left to the angels or DSP-ickery), and rings for days. I fell asleep once sustaining a power chord while on hold with the cable company, and my internet was back on before that last bit of harmonics faded into a groovy afterlife...so that should give you an idea. It weighs....oh does it weigh. If they sold guitars by the pound, I'd be set for life with "Anvil".

btw...that's a HUGE notice....

COMPRESSOR ADDICTION IS REAL . . . good.

I've wanted a Bearhug Comp for forever, but never managed to pull the trigger on a 1776 Effects version.
Alas, 1776 seems to have joined Grind Custom's state of limbo...
Madbean to the rescue!!

Further to my compressor-fetish, I also got the Trash Compactor — Bean-Brian's take on the THAT 4305 Application Note.
I'd prior noticed some articles about the Application Note that noted, take note, that the compressor-circuit within the Application Note was itself noticeably quite notable, denoting compression itself you might notate — so I took note, and I've wanted this comp for notably some time.
I would've snorted this regardless of how it's powered, but he "...decided to keep the bipolar supply suggested in the design note. Not many guitar compressors utilize this approach so it’s worth a few extra steps for the increased dynamic range a dual supply offers."
Dynamic range! So it might be great on BASS: So I HAD to mainline this.

The Setback was on sale? Yes, yes it was. Great Northern Piker that I am, I lunged at the sale-bait. Besides, how can you say no to analogue delay with a good set of coat & tails... ... ... .. .. .. . . . .

...Which explains why this Piker also went striker for Turnabout. I'm not remotely interested in Just How Someone goes @ it, but I must've been feeling spitehellful to grab this (for me) non-sequitur. For 5-bucks, you can't go far wrong. I'll probably call this build "Bright Eyes", what with the sale burning like fire — yes "Bright Eyes", how can you get so close to Crunch and fail? Turnabout/Bright Eyes, Every now and then I get a little bit restless and I dream of building something wild.

So for another 5-smackers I attackered the Wetbar, an Ibby Soundtank seriesly challenged dirt puddle. As derisive as Brian was in the build doc, he did say he'd modded it for the better, but stock it's "Very bass heavy...", another piker-striker trigger as I'm allaboudabass.

Lastly, after viewing another of the Winter Soldier's premium builds and having a thing for Mayan warrior-goddesses, as well as viewing/listening to Mr Prolific Himself's build & demo — lo behold a sale was on the Aquaboy Deluxe, delusions of grandeur ensued...

Notably, this has been the first bit of text that has ever made me want to try a notedly specific compressor. Note that down
