Jlcpcb and tariffs

At one point JLCPCB was overcharging tariffs due to the constant and rapid fluctuations.

I suspect they aren't going to jump out there and immediately adjust the rates based on this news.

Due to the fluctuating customs duty rate (145%~175%), we will collect taxes from customers in advance based on the highest rate of 175%. After receiving the tax bill from the logistics provider, any excess will be refunded, and any shortfall will be charged accordingly. I read in the news today that CBP opened up the customer portal to get in and apply for tariff refunds, so naturally I was excited because just from JLC I paid a total of about $4700 in IEEPA tariffs. The portal is open to direct importers, not consumers at large, so you have to be the one that actually imported it to be eligible for the refund. I figured I would be good there, but because JLC exclusively shipped DDP, JLCPCB was the importer of record for the transactions, so they're eligible for the refunds, not me.

$4700 is enough that I reached out to JLC to see what their plans are for this, but I'm not optimistic about it.
