Layout for 3 knobs and a toggle

For a pedal with 3 knobs and a toggle switch, which layout do you prefer, or some other arrangement on a 125B?

Knob arrangement/configuration depends on...

  • what type of controls are in the circuit

  • how I want to group said controls

  • what size the enclosure is

  • what the graphic, if any, is going to be

  • what type of knobs will be used

  • miscellaneous other considerations

For example, in a 1590B build (yes, I know you asked for 1590N1), I'll probably go with your #4 and use a short-bat switch so the controls are least likely to be interfered with when one of my big feet stomps on the footswitch.

However...
The configuration that came to my mind immediately when I saw the thread title but hadn't seen your four options yet was a diamond:

I also like a "T" shape...

So yeah, depends...

I prefer 2, or 1 but I recently did this with a low profile toggle switch.

Actually mounting the toggle off board may work better because when it is mounted on the board the vertical spacing is such that often times the threaded section of the toggle switch sticks out too far above the pedal and doesn't look that great
