I get why they do it, but it is dumb to demo the "make any amp sound like a Marshall amp!" pedal using a Marshall amp.

Not completely. My friends solid state Marshall combo does not sound like a Marshall at all. He has to put a pedal in front and refuses to give my Golden Falk back. ;-)I get why they do it, but it is dumb to demo the "make any amp sound like a Marshall amp!" pedal using a Marshall amp.
they seem to all have that same bandwidth limited/squashed boxyness to it.Is it just me, or do they all sound identical?
Unless it costs a good bit more than the others my guess is this:The JVM has a gate (I'm assuming THAT4305 based since it's inspired by the JVM410HJS), so that one is going to be at least somewhat unique to the others.
What pedal is this from?I'm kind of really not excited for these TBH, 4 knobs single-mode, big box, probably nothing exciting going on inside, demo makes them sound like standard MIAB pedals and they all seem rather samey. Why not go full EQ, add a mod or channel switch? Or ditch this idea of "small" emulation pedals and just do stuff like a Valvestate preamp pedal or a floor unit JMP-1? It's 80s/90s nostalgia year looking at the other brands' releases, the time seems right.

You're just listening with your eyes closed. Is it just me, or do they all sound identical?
That looks to be the Aion FX Ember Distortion (Amptweaker Tight Metal). What pedal is this from?
Yep, plug it straight into the PA and let's hear it.I get why they do it, but it is dumb to demo the "make any amp sound like a Marshall amp!" pedal using a Marshall amp.
Eh, if it was designed to be played in front of an amp it's probably going to sound bad without the added tone shaping of a clean channel. But yeah, a more neutral sounding guitar amp would have been nice for these demos.Yep, plug it straight into the PA and let's hear it.

Weirdly expensive chip to toss in there and not raise the price, unless its design is somehow lower parts than the rest of the line to make up for it?$149 like all the others, and it is indeed THAT 4315 based.
Makes me think it’s FET based and they are pushing the low end a bit much….reminds me a lot of another pedal. Could it be:they seem to all have that same bandwidth limited/squashed boxyness to it.
gonna lmao when a guv'nor sounds better than all of them.
Exactly the pedal I was thinking of! Had such high hopes for the DLS, and man was I let down. For me I don’t think these are any better than th Wampler Plexi driveI already have a DLS…
