Simple Rely Bypass (Latching) issue

I just built my first simple relay bypass board to go along with my recently build Abider pedal. The Abider sounds awesome!
The issue I’m having is that I have to click the footswitch twice to engage or disable the pedal. It does still work, but having to click the pedal twice definitely means something is wrong. I am guessing it might be the footswitch itself?
If this isn’t something obvious, I can also post some pics.

My immediate thought is it sounds like you’re using a latching footswitch. You’re supposed to use a momentary footswitch— it’s just the relay that’s latching. If you are using a momentary footswitch. I’m not sure what it could be, but someone else may know.

I actually didn’t know that they make a latching footswitch that has the 2 connectors. That could be it!

I've never seen one but it'd be easy to check with a DMM.

They’re not super common, but I have bought them in the past to make latching mute switches so they’re definitely out there.

I have a couple other foot switches. I’m going to swap them out and report back

Swapped the foot switch and it’s working like it’s suppose to!
