TC1 tester on the fritz

I've had this TC1 tester for about 2 years. It has worked great up until this last few days. It won't hold charge anymore and periodically it won't work at all. it just flashes the screen for a second when I hit the start button. Anybody know anything about troubleshooting these things?

Maybe someone else has some deep knowledge on these but for my money i think i would just treat it like a wear item. Not a question of if it will go bad but when.

Yea. They’re only $25. It’s just a matter of when it’ll go…

If I were to troubleshoot it I’d try replacing the battery

Please post clear well-lit pictures of both sides of your board including any off board wiring.

I bet @GizzWizzKing is right and it’ll be time to order a new one, but it could be cool to tear it down anyway. Like @BuddytheReow says, something’s up with your battery. You could probably poke around for some voltages and see if it’s getting/ putting out the right power.

Doesn’t work on usb either. I think I will pop it open when I get off work and see what’s what in there.

Don't rule out a funky USB port.
