Jlcpcb and tariffs

I did the Global Direct Saver on a smaller order a few weeks ago, expecting to get hit with duty fees when it landed. It came in the 2 weeks or so it always has and I haven't gotten a bill for anything yet!

I’m pretty sure long boat is exempt but not always an option depending on weight.

2 weeks is pretty fast to me, but I never ever use FedEx or third parties because then I am guaranteed to get hit with brokerage, customs and all that garbage.

I use it frequently for prototypes or personal projects but 2 weeks is untenable fpr a production batch.

I noticed that option was duty free and wondered what would happen. Figured, worst case would be having to pay duties to get it off the boat. Sound like it's worth it to pay them up front with DHL or UPS.

Yes, I pay the upfront now, fed ex, gets to my door in 5 days

I ordered some JLC boards via slow shipping and they arrived a few days back without any kind of tariff payment request.

I looked on the checkout options. Tariffs appear on other shipping options but not on the slow boat option.
